High Trash Generating Areas and Control Study

In the Los Angeles area, trash has been designated as a major pollutant in urban runoff. To address this problem, it was important to identify the high trash-generation areas within the City of Los Angeles and develop appropriate control strategies.

A field study was conducted in 2002 with a followup report to assist the City of Los Angeles in addressing the regulatory requirements and reducing the amount of trash found throughout the City’s watersheds.
